3 Ways to Build Your Brand with Outdoor Banners – Get Bigger Locally!

submitted on 18 September 2017
banners

We’re all familiar with outdoor signage and advertising displays, because they’ve been around forever, and they’re still everywhere. Ask yourself why? The answer is – because they work. In the past, outdoor adverting was simply the name of a business painted on the exterior of the business establishment, typically; but nowadays, it’s a completely different ballgame. So, how can you take advantage of outdoor advertising to boost your brand and business growth?

Here are three ways to use cost-effective pullup banners and large-scale banners to help build your brand and goodwill in the community, and with existing and potential customers.

1. Sponsorship
If you’re in business, then you’re part of a community, and your customers live in that community. Consider sponsoring a local sports club or team, school group, or community club. Such groups and their activities generally attract many people, and supporting your local community in this way sends a clear and strong message about the values of your business and brand. Strategically positioning a large-scale outdoor banner at their events, or even permanently at a sports club ground can pay off big-time in the long run.

2. Events
The list of possible events which you could attend, support, or simply advertise at using an outdoor banner is too extensive to include them all here. Do your research and discover what’s programmed in your local area, and which events would be a good fit for your brand and business. Offer to provide products as prizes or services free of charge, in exchange for the opportunity to promote your business via a large outdoor banner at the entrance or other strategic location at the venue, or event.

3. Mobile banners
When the marketing people say you need to go mobile – everyone automatically thinks of smartphones. On the other hand, mounting a large outdoor banner on the back of a flatbed truck and driving it around your local community will turn more heads, and get more people talking than simply posting another update on Facebook or Twitter. Let’s be honest, we’re sinking in a sea of digital ads that most of us are virtually oblivious to – but a head-turning mobile banner doing the rounds in your neighbourhood will be sure to become a local talking point. If your budget allows it, consider going all in and providing product giveaways or special limited-time offers and discounts as part of the stunt!

Investing in outdoor banners is not only cost-effective advertising, it’s often overlooked nowadays due to the obsession with online marketing; but, especially if you’re a local neighbourhood business, a strategically located banner outdoors could expose your business to the very customers you want to attract – those that are actually within striking distance of your place of business.

Are you ready to get bigger locally?
